Saku got more than she bargained for when she took in Yukichi, a cat that is not only much bigger than her, cooks, cleans and does all the other household tasks. More of the story for the upcoming The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today TV anime was shown off in the latest trailer for the series which also revealed the opening theme song “Ureu Kado niwa Fuku Kitaru” by debut artist somei.

The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today‘s chief directed is Susumu Kudo (Magic Kaito 1412) with direction from Katsumasa Yokomine at studio GoHands, scripts by Tamazo Yanagi (Scar on the Praetar) and character designs by Takayuki Uchida (Hand Shakers). The series is scheduled to start on July 7.

 

Seven Seas Entertainment, who publishes the official English version of Hitsuji Yamada’s manga, describes the series as such:

 

When Saku took in a stray black cat, she never expected that he would become the equivalent of a housekeeping life partner. But Yukichi, a giant cat who towers over Saku, is not your ordinary feline. He takes great pride in his culinary skills, and a good sale at the supermarket always gets his whiskers twitching. Saku may not have her act together yet, but at least she has Yukichi!
