The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies Anime Reveals Main Cast
An anime adaptation was announced for Cocoa Fujiwara’s The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies romance manga in November 2023, and now we have more information. The latest update came through with a key visual, voice cast members for the leads and plans for a July 2024 premiere.
Yuki Ono (Josuke in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable) leads the cast as evil lieutenant Mira alongside Mai Nakahara (Rena in Higurashi: When They Cry) as magical girl Byakuya Mimori. The actors previously voiced these respective roles in drama CDs that were released in Japan back in 2015. You can see both characters in the visual below.

The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies anime is being directed by Akiyo Ohashi (The Stranger by the Shore), with Yuniko Ayana (given) on series composition, Haruko Iizuka (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) on character designs and MAYUKO (Ranking of Kings) handling music for the BONES production.
Original author Cocoa Fujiwara, who also created Inu x Boku SS, passed away in 2015.
