The Girl from the Other Side OAD English Dub Debuts Today

If you’ve been waiting for the dubbed version to watch The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún OAD, then your wait is over! Today Crunchyroll will begin offering the English dub.

Looking toward the cast, Sarah Wiedenheft plays Shiva, Gary Furlong plays Teacher, Ian Sinclair plays Outsider, Jason Liebrecht plays Soldier, and Jerry Jewell plays Hunter.

Ben Balmaceda, Kieran Flitton, Shawn Gann, Caitlin Glass, Molly Searcy, and Marcus Stimac will also be supplying their voice talents.

The English dub is being directed by Emily Fajardo, working with a script written by Tyler Walker. The job of lead engineer goes to Zachary Davis, and the task of ADR prep is being fulfilled by Benjamin Tehrani.

The OAD came about thanks to fans’ generous donations to Wit Studio’s Kickstarter. The goal was to raise 3 million yen (which is approximately $28,000), and that amount was accrued within hours. By the end of the Kickstarter campaign, 22,670,343 yen (which is approximately $199,000) had been raised. Because of this, The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún could also afford a short anime bonus.

The original manga by Nagabe is published by Seven Seas Entertainment (including a deluxe edition), and the publisher gave this description for the plot:

“In a world split between the Inside and the Outside, those living in both realms are told never to cross over to the other side, lest they be cursed. A young girl named Shiva lives on the other side, in a vacant village with a demonic guardian known only as “Teacher.” Although the two are forbidden to touch, they seem to share a bond that transcends their disparate appearances. But when Shiva leaves Teacher’s care to seek out her grandmother, the secret behind her mysterious living arrangement comes to light.”
