The Ancient Magus’ Bride Anime Shares Trailer for Upcoming Episodes

The second half of the second season of The Ancient Magus’ Bride (a.k.a. Mahō Tsukai no Yome in Japanese) is set to debut on October 5, and ahead of this an English-subtitled trailer was released. In it you can hear a clip of the new opening theme song “Nemurasareta Lineage” (translated as “A Quieted Lineage”).

The first part of season two — which covers the manga’s college arc — began on April 6, then concluded in June. The anime is being made at Studio Kafka, with Kazuaki Terasawa helming the project as the director. Terasawa most recently worked on The Ancient Magus’ Bride – The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm OAD. A number of people who previously worked in the franchise are back, including writers Aya Takaha and Yoko Yonaiyama, composer Junichi Matsumoto, and character designer Hirotaka Katō. The first season of the anime came out back in 2017. Studio Kafka was made precisely to work on this franchise, though since then it has worked on other anime as well.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride is based on the manga by Kore Yamazaki, which is published in America through Seven Seas Entertainment. Altogether, the books have more than ten million copies out in circulation around the globe, making it a fan favorite.
