South Korean Boy Band THE BOYZ Joins Anime x Musical Mixed-Media Project FLAGLIA

Following the mixed-media project’s announcement in late October, it was announced today that South Korean boy band THE BOYZ will make their anime debut in FLAGLIA with main theme song “Here is” and insert songs “Take Me Back” and “Talk About Us”.
A broadcast schedule for the anime, which will air on Tokyo MX in a 25:35-26:05 slot, was also unveiled:
- Episode 1-2: January 16, 2023
- Episode 3-4: January 23, 2023
- Episode 5-6: January 30, 2023

Based on an original story by Madoka Takadono (Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist) and character drafts by Zihuatanejo (After Work manga), the anime is being directed by Itsuro Kawasaki (The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting) at Studio Gaina alongside Erika Ito (LOVE and LIES) as animation character designer.
The musical, titled “FLAGLIA THE MUSICAL ~Yukitekareishi Monogatari~” and directed by Tsuneyasu Motoyoshi, will run from February 3 to February 9 next year at Tokyo’s Nippon Seinen-kan Hall, starring Yoshikuni Dochin, Yoonhak, Toshiki Seto, Waku Sakaguchi, Shotaro Okubo, Tatsuya Tomoishi, Kenji Sakamoto and nine members of Japanese-South Korean boy band NIK.
Yoshikuni Dochin and Yoonhak are confirmed to also be starring in the anime, which will be set in the present day while the musical is set in the Middle Ages. Additional details, such as format and more story info, are yet to be revealed.
