Get ready for more adventures in the Shatterverse, as the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account has confirmed a July 13 return for the Sonic Prime animated series on Netflix.

The series was first announced in 2021 as a Netflix Originals production with children’s media producer WildBrain and Sega working collectively to produce the latest Sonic series aimed primarily at children, but with enough action and nods to the wider video game franchise to satisfy long-time fans, from a treatment produced by Man of Action studios.

The first season consisting of eight episodes debuted on the streaming service in 2022 to great acclaim and positive reviews for capturing the Sonic franchise’s individual characters and their personalities down to the smallest detail.

The voice cast from the first season also returns, featuring Deven Mack as Sonic, Brian Drummond as Dr. Eggman, Ashleigh Ball as Miles Prower, Adam Nurada as Knuckles the Echidna, Shannon Chan-Kent as Amy Rose, Ian Hanlin as Shadow the Hedgehog, Kazumi Evans as Rouge The Bat and Vincent Tong as various versions of Shatterverse Knuckles and Chaos Council. Rachell Hofstetter also returns as Squad Commander Red and Seán McLoughlin returns as Jack.

Netflix describes the series:

When an explosive battle with Dr. Eggman shatters the universe, Sonic races through parallel dimensions to reconnect with his friends and save the world.
