Slash and Dash with Yuta’s Sword from JUJUTSU KAISEN 0

Japan has a long history of loving its swords, and that respect has made its way into anime and manga. If you watched the movie JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 and had fantasies of wielding Yuta’s sword, you’re not the only one. As a result, the Proplica company is coming out with the PROPLICA Otsukotsu no Katana -Theatrical Version JUJUTSU KAISEN 0- ~Rika Manifestation~ prop sword.

As the prop part indicates, this sword won’t cut you, and it’s meant to be a toy. But as far as toys go, it has a lot to offer. There’s a motor placed in the sword’s hilt to make it vibrate as if by magic. The sword will additionally speak different lines, and the talking can be set off by moving the sword around.

If someone buys the sword, it will also come with a stand so you’ll have a place to put it. There’s also going to be a booklet. All of this amounts to a price of 14,850 yen, which is approximately $112. The swords won’t go on sale until June, so it seems they’re announcing it early to get people interested.

VIZ Media publishes the JUJUTSU KAISEN manga in English, as well as the prequel manga JUJUTSU KAISEN 0. It gave this description for the latter:

“Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?”
