Revenger TV Anime Adds Akio Ohtsuka, Takehito Koyasu to Cast

Content with the introductions to its main ensemble through regular character trailers over the past few weeks, upcoming original anime series Revenger moved onto other inhabitants of its cutthroat samurai world, today announcing the casting of Akio Ohtsuka (All for One in My Hero Academia) as the clerical Gerald Kanou and Takehito Koyasu (Dio in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) as the dastardly Jinkurou Isarizawa.

Co-produced by nitroplus and Shochiku, Revenger is confirmed to be a TV anime that will premiere on January 5 at 22:30 JST, starring these main cast members:

 

  • Raizo Kurima voiced by Kasama (Wilibald in Saga of Tanya the Evil)
  • Yuen Usui voiced by Yuichiro Umehara (Courier in Akudama Drive)
  • Teppa Murakami voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi (Takeda in My Senpai is Annoying)
  • Nio voiced by Hisako Kanemoto (Epsilon in The Eminence in Shadow) as Nio
  • Soji voiced by Shota Hayama (Kazushi in Tokyo Revengers)

 

Crunchyroll, who’ll be streaming the anime after it airs in Japan, describes the series as such:

 

As master assassin Usui Yuen looks into a series of assassinations made on the grand samurai clan, the Satsuma, he encounters Kurima Raizo, member and survivor of one of the attacks. Together, they discover the true nature of these murders is bigger than over stolen resources. As they get closer to the truth, will they come out alive to exact revenge?
