Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Trailer Delivers Out of This World Details

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon sent out a new trailer for their upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games today, giving Poké fans a super effective amount of details ahead of the game’s release next week. The trailer is a short overview of the information already announced about the game (and a tease of a new ‘mon!) set to Ed Sheeran’s “Celestial.”

Outside of the trailer, details on the first Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles were revealed. The black Tera Raid crystals spawn in Pokémon much stronger than regular Tera Raid crystals and only have a short window of availability to catch before they’re gone forever–or at least until the event is run again. These are only able to be run in the postgame or through special means.

The first Pokémon to appear as part of these events is a Charizard with Dragon as its Tera Type. Charizard is usually not available to catch in Paldea. Its event period is from December 1 to 4 and then again from December 15 to 18.

Not only that, but more ordinary Tera Raid Battle events will be available in the game as well with an Eevee spotlight—which has special Eevee with different Tera Types—being the first to run from November 24 to 27.

It was also confirmed that Pokémon HOME connectivity for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will start in spring 2023, allowing “select Pokémon from past games” to become available to Paldea players. Moreover, a day-one patch for the game will be available on release, allowing online play.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet release exclusively on the Nintendo Switch around the world on November 18.
