Fans of phantom thievery are in luck, because a new anime adaptation project has been announced for the Mirage QUEEN series: Mirage QUEEN’S Elegant Vacations (known in Japan as Kaitou Queen no Yuuga na Vacances or Mirage QUEEN Vacances Elegantes). Further details about the project (such as the cast, crew, format, and release date) have not yet been revealed.

The Mirage QUEEN series is by Kaoru Hayamine, illustrated by K2 Shoukai, and published in Japan by Kodansha under their Aoitori Bunko imprint. The first novel in the series, Mirage QUEEN Prefers Circus, was adapted in June of 2022 into a 60 minute theatrical OAV with direction by Saori Den and animation production by East Fish Studio.

They always steal the prey they aim for. That is Phantom Thief Queen. Gender, age, nationality unknown. Together with their partner Joker, RD, they travel around the world on the airship Troubadour. This time, the Queen is aiming for a cursed jewel, the legendary Rose of Linden. A hypnotist, an acrobat, a magician…the talented circus members challenge the Queen! What is their purpose? In order to get back the jewel, the Queen stands up to the challenge in a bold and brilliant way (or disguise). Nothing is impossible for the Queen!
