The main staff includes director Masayuki Yoshihara (The Eccentric Family), screenplay writer Muneo Nakamoto (Sword Art Online series) and Yukito Kizawa (Monogatari series), and soundtrack composer Tatsuya Kato (Love Live! Sunshine!, Dr. STONE).

Yoshihara says, “I hope that this work will provide a clue to finding what you really love through the ‘way of facing work’ of the two main characters: Rui, who works on whisky making that takes years to see the results and that will be handed down to the next generation, and Kotaro, who envies those who are moving toward their goals but cannot find what he should be doing.”

Saori Hayami (Yor Forger in SPY x FAMILY) is cast as the protagonist Rui Komada, the heir daughter of the distillery who is struggling to revive the once famous whiskey, while Kensho Ono (Tetsuya Kuroko in Kuroko’s Basketball) plays Kotaro Takahashi, a reporter for a news website who visits Rio’s distillery to report on the distillery and has been moving from job to job without finding what he wants to do. Maaya Uchida (Angel Devil in Chainsaw Man) and Yoshimasa Hosoya (Kaina in Kaina of the Great Snow Sea) also join the cast as Tomoko Kawabata and Yasumoto, respectively.

The 90-minute film will also be screened at Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2023 in its Contrechamp Feature Films category.
