Delicious in Dungeon
I love what I’ve read of the manga, and TRIGGER is one of my favorite studios. Much like many of the bizarre delicacies in the story, this is a flavor combo you just can’t beat.
BUCCHIGIRI?!
Half the fun is that, despite seeing trailers, I barely have any idea of what they’re going to do with this original story. I’ll be there to see how it shakes out!
Blue Exorcist -Shimane Illuminati Saga-
It’s been a long time since I watched Blue Exorcist, so I’m excited to return to that world again. I might need a catch-up, though…
Solo Leveling
I’ll admit the hype behind this one got me. I’ve yet to read the source material, but it sounds like fun, and A-1 Pictures is a solid studio.

Your Color
A new Naoko Yamada project always means instant hype for me. We don’t know too much about this film yet except it’s about a high school girl who can see people’s emotions as colors, and it’s being produced over at Science Saru. Most important is the talent at the top, and Yamada hasn’t disappointed yet in her long and varied career. This was originally set to come out in 2023, but good to see them take their time and aim for something great rather than rush.
Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp
Coming out just next month, this film compiles the three Kizumonogatari films from a few years back. It’ll be great to see these again — I remember them being really experimental and weird, not to mention well-animated. Hopefully, the compilation treatment doesn’t break up their funky flow.
Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction: Parts 1 and 2
Not one but two films adapting the wild and near-unpronounceable Asano Inio manga Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction? Yes, please. The films are being animated over at the new studio Production +h, which did great work on The Orbital Children and is reportedly a relatively equitable place to work in the often brutal anime industry. Nice!

A Sign of Affection
From following a handful of shojo manga influencers, A Sign of Affection had been on my radar for a few years. The trailers already caught my shojo-loving side, so I went ahead and read the first volume on Kodansha and can say I’m eagerly waiting to see this blossoming love story play out.
I need more sweet and mature love anime in my life and just by the look of it, suu Morishita will provide.
Urusei Yatsura (2022) 2nd Season
Lum, the oni princess, is fiery and bringing the heat (by an electrical current of course) in this second season of a Rumiko Takahashi classic.
