Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari Cour 2 Hits Japanese TV on July 3rd

Spiritual warfare resumes on Japanese TV on July 3rd, because the broadcast details have been revealed for the upcoming second cour of Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari, the ongoing TV anime based on the supernatural action manga by Onigunsou. The series will broadcast in Japan as follows:

 

  • TOKYO MX: every Monday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on July 03, 2023.
  • BS11: every Monday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on July 03, 2023.
  • AT-X: every Thursday during the 23:00 time slot beginning on July 06, 2023.
  • Tochigi TV: every Thursday during the 23:00 time slot beginning on July 06, 2023.

 

Additionally, three new cast members (pictured above, from left to right) have been announced for the series. The new cast additions include:

 

  • Tsuzumi voiced by Kohei Fukuhara
  • Tsumabiki voiced by Mika Doi
  • Fukie voiced by Yusuke Shirai

The original Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari manga is serialized in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Seven Seas Entertainment. The Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari TV anime is directed by Ryuichi Kimura and features animation production by Bandai Namco Pictures.

 

Crunchyroll currently streams the first cour of the series, and describes the story of Mononogatari: Malevolent Spirits as follows:

 

Filled with rage against spirits known as tsukumogami, Kunato Hyoma is sent to live with Nagatsuki Botan to help him see a different side. Though both are part of a clan that return the spirits back to their world with divine powers, their experiences with the otherworldly vessels are vastly different. Kunato, robbed of a loved one, and Nagatsuki, saved by them. Can she get through to him?
