Set between the events of the second and third Sonic the Hedgehog films, the live-action Knuckles TV series is stomping on over to Paramount+ this spring. Paramount revealed an official premiere date for the series, which will have Idris Elba reprising his role as Knuckles when it hits the streaming service on April 26.

More territories will follow on April 27, and a Japanese premiere is set for sometime later this year. Check out the new trailer:

Beyond Elba, a number of people from the movies are also going to be involved with the series. Jeff Fowler, the movies’ director, is in charge of directing the pilot episode. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Toru Nakahara continue to work as executive producers, with Elba joining them on this endeavor. John Whittington was one of the writers for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and he’ll be the main writer for the series, in addition to being an executive producer. Adam Pally, Rory McCann and Tika Sumpter will all be involved in the cast.
