Kuso Miso Technique Anime Dresses Down Potential Investors with Saucy Key Visual

From a 1987 one-shot publication and early 2000s internet meme to an April Fools’ Day joke and actual anime in the 2020s, renowned yaoi hentai manga Kuso Miso Technique successfully crowdfunded 8,680,500 yen (approx. U.S$62,500) to completion at the end of May, achieving 108% of its goal from 514 backers after a last-minute stretch goal push: a poster of the below key visual, which was unveiled on the official Twitter account.

The crowdfunding page states that the anime will be titled “Shin Yaranaika” — named after one of many internet memes that spawned from Kuso Miso Technique screencaps that were circulated from 2002 — and will incorporate parts of Junichi Yamakawa’s other works and original material “for the enjoyment of people of all ages.”

Produced by Studio Leo and Anime Tokyo, Pierre Ito is helming the anime’s production as director, alongside Ikansoku as scriptwriter with scenario assistance from Taiten Kawakami and Yi Zhang (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure episode animation director) as character designer and chief animation director. “Kinmirai” is credited for the theme song.

Kuso Miso Technique follows Masaki Michishita (who will be voiced by Sorate) as he encounters and accepts a forward invitation from a stranger in a jumpsuit named Takakazu Abe (who will be voiced by Yoshiro Sasaki), leading to several toilet-based hijinks.
