In This Corner of the World Director’s Next Anime Film ‘The Mourning Children’ Posts Second Production Trailer, Teaser Visual

 

During the MAPPA STAGE 2023 event tonight in Tokyo, acclaimed anime director Sunao Katabuchi, known for the award-winning In This Corner of the World anime film, showed off a little more on his highly-anticipated next film, including the title: The Mourning Children, Nagiko and the Girls Wearing Tsurubami Black.

 

 

Part of this was another production trailer for the film showing off the recreation of period-accurate clothing and festivities:

Joining director Katabuchi is Your Name. animation director Masashi Ando as the chief animation director, with Akira art director Toshiharu Mizutani in the same role and In This Corner of the World assistant director Chie Uratani is the co-director on The Mourning Children, Nagiko and the Girls Wearing Tsurubami Black. MAPPA president is helping produce the film with animation being done at Katabuchi’s own studio CONTRAIL.
