IDOLiSH7 Concert Film Finally Reaches One Billion Yen Mark in Japan

 

The official Twitter account for the male idol-themed multimedia franchise IDOLiSH7 confirmed today on June 19 that the cumulative domestic box office gross of its first concert film IDOLiSH 7 LIVE 4bit BEYOND THE PERiOD has finally surpassed a milestone of one billion yen (7.07 million USD) in five weeks since its release.

 

 

The 93-minute film was released in 173 theaters across Japan on May 20 and earned 227 million yen (1.64 million USD) on 114,230 admissions, ranking fifth in its opening weekend. Then the film ranked sixth in its second weekend, eighth in its third, and ninth in its fourth.

 

As previously reported, the film earned 756,976,682 yen (5,423,051 USD) on 444,353 admissions in 22 days from May 20 to June 12. Now it has become the fifth Japanese anime film of 2023 that has reached the one billion yen mark. From June 24, the film’s 4DX, MX4D and Dolby Cinema screenings will also begin in Japan.

IDOLiSH 7 LIVE 4bit BEYOND THE PERiOD is a concert film depicting the stage performances of the franchise’s four idol groups: IDOLiSH7, TRIGGER, Re:vale, and ZOOL. The film features two distinct versions — “DAY1” and “DAY2” — with different song lists, screened on consecutive days during its theatrical run.
