Horimiya: The Missing Pieces TV Anime Premieres on July 1

The sports festival, Kyoto field trip, family rivalry, cross-dressing and more are all on the table for Horimiya: The Missing Pieces, a special anime series that will dive into stories that were skipped in the beloved 2021 end-to-end adaptation. A key visual and trailer were unveiled today ahead of a July 1 at 23:30 JST premiere, along with theme song info and an additional cast member.

On top of all the heart and chaos we’ve come to expect from the series, the new trailer also provides a preview of the anime’s ending and opening theme songs, “URL” by Ami Sakaguchi (Smile Down the Runway OP) and “Shiawase” by Omoinotake (Blue Period OP), respectively.

New stories mean new faces, and Horimiya: The Missing Pieces will also be welcoming Daisuke Hirakawa (Rei in Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club) as Takeru Sengoku to join a stacked cast list that already includes Koki Uchiyama, Haruka Tomatsu, Daisuke Ono, M・A・O and more.

Based on the manga by HERO and Daisuke Hagiwara, Horimiya is directed by Masashi Ishihama (SPY x FAMILY OP) at studio CloverWorks, with series composition by Takao Yoshioka (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai), character designs by Haruko Iizuka (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) and music by Masaru Yokoyama (Tomo-chan Is a Girl!).
