Gushing Over Magical Girls’ Trailer Reveals 3 Versions of Anime

A new trailer has dropped for Gushing Over Magical Girls, and it lets us know the anime will debut in a little under a month, on January 3. It also gave more info on the cast, the ending song, and the three different versions.

Starting with the just-revealed cast, we now know that Yuka Aisaka plays Matama Akoya/Loco Musica, Minami Tsuda plays Nemo Anemo/Leberblume, and Kana Asumi plays Vatz.

The ending theme song is titled “Togetoge Sadistic,” and is performed by the characters of Enormeeta.

Now, what is this about three versions? The first is the TV broadcast version, which is how it will play on Japanese TV. This version is going to censor aspects of the show so it can be broadcast.

The second version is being called the “gushing” version, and this will become available on streaming services. This will show more than the TV version, but will still have some censorship. Specifically, it says the audio will be censored, and some but not all of the pictures.

The third version is called the “ultra-gushing” version, and will have no censorship. For a person to view this version, they’ll need to get it on Blu-ray Disc or DVD.

Gushing Over Magical Girls is being made at Asahi Production, with Tadato Suzuki and Atsushi Ootsuki helming as producers.

J-Novel Club is publishing the original manga by Akihiro Ononaka (which is known as Mahō Shōjo ni Akogarete in Japanese) and gave this description for it:

Hi, I’m Hiiragi Utena. I’m a normal magical-girl-loving middle school girl—or at least I was, but then some talking mascot showed up out of the blue and cast a spell on me! Now’s my chance to join my beloved magical girls as…a villain? Hang on, something’s wrong with my outfit! This can’t be happening!
