GUIDE: It’s Time to Refresh Yourself on the Characters of Dr. STONE

Senku in Dr. STONE

If there’s anything we’ve learned from two seasons of Dr. STONE, it’s that its characters have certainly gone through A LOT. From experiencing what they thought was the end of everything to being reborn many years later in a world that’s much different than they remember and then getting into a full-blown war over the future of their new-found society, they’ve had their fair share of triumphs and troubles. So, with Season 3 freshly arrived, let’s take a look and catch back up with these characters before Senku and the gang embark on a new adventure to the other side of the Earth.

Senku Ishigami

Senku in Dr. STONE

The man of science himself, Senku has done his best to try and bring technology and science back to this new world after using his brain power to free himself from being petrified. Since then, he’s managed to help other people break out of their stone prisons, reintroduce various forms of science and gain quite a few allies for his Kingdom of Science. He’s also managed to make a few enemies along the way as well, but for the most part, has been able to successfully thwart them with his ingenious usage of science.

Taiju Oki

Taiju in Dr. STONE

Senku’s best pal is one of the first people he revives after waking up. While Taiju is much bigger and stronger than Senku, he’s not necessarily someone who wants to use that strength to fight people. After reawakening, he helps Senku in various ways to create his Kingdom of Science and is also utilized to infiltrate the Tsukasa Empire as a way to keep tabs on Tsukasa and what his group was doing while they were at war with Senku.

Yuzuriha Ogawa

Yuzuriha in Dr. STONE

Yuzuriha was another person Senku revived early on as Taiju is interested in her romantically, so it made sense for Senku to help his buddy out. Yuzuriha is a nice and kind gal who, along with Taiju, is a key component to Senku’s Kingdom of Science.

While Yuzuriha’s not someone who’s as scientifically inclined as Senku, she is more useful in handicrafts — before everything changed she was attempting to get into the world of fashion, which does give her a trade that’s still useful in this new society. In the second season, Yuzuriha was utilized as a part of a secret mission from Senku to rebuild human statues that had been destroyed by Tsukasa.

Tsukasa Shishio

Tsukasa in Dr. STONE

Another early person revived by Senku, Tsukasa originally was supposed to be someone that would use his strength to help Senku, but he eventually turns on him and creates the Tsukasa Empire in an attempt to only revive younger people due to his distrust of adults. His faction goes to war with Senku and finds themselves on the losing end of that fight. Despite that, he is helped at the end of this arc by Senku, who puts him into cryo sleep in order to find a way to cure his injuries sustained in battle and to hopefully become an ally of Senku’s once again.

Hyoga

Hyoga in Dr. STONE

A tall and strong fighter Tsukasa revives to help his Empire, Hyoga was one of Tsukasa’s strongest warriors, until he betrayed Tsukasa near the end of the second season due to Senku agreeing to help Tsukasa revive his sister. He attempts to kill Tsukasa’s sister and injures Tsukasa in the process, which causes the unlikely team of Senku and Tsukasa to attempt to take him down. They’re able to do so, but this does lead to Tsukasa being put out of action and frozen as a way for Senku to try and find a way to heal him later on.

Homura Momiji

Homura in Dr. STONE

A former gymnast that was revived to help serve in Tsukasa’s Empire, she became aligned with Hyoga and formed a strong partnership with him.

She is a formidable opponent for the Kingdom of Science, especially Kohaku, but is eventually captured by Kohaku near the end of the second season. Homura was the one that caused the collapse of the cave where they could acquire fluid to revive people at the end of Season 2.

Ukyo Saionji

Ukyo in Dr. STONE

Before being turned to stone, Ukyo was a navy sailor that became an incredibly skilled archer and one of the top scouts for the Tsukasa Empire. He captured Chrome as a part of trying to sabotage the Kingdom of Science’s telephone poles, but would eventually come to work with Senku after having suspicions that Hyoga was sacrificing other members of the Kingdom on top of his unease at Tsukasa’s willingness to destroy human statues. This caused him to get injured by Hyoga near the end of Season 2.

Gen Asagiri

Gen in Dr. STONE

Gen is certainly a very strange person. He’s incredibly shifty, he is initially revived by Tsukasa to help out his Empire by spying on Senku, but in the end, he defects to Senku’s Kingdom of Science. Thanks in large part to Senku being able to recreate the glory of cola… but also because he sees how Senku’s many accomplishments are able to help humanity as a whole. While he can seem like someone who’s really looking out for himself, Gen isn’t a bad ally to have considering he’s pretty good at fooling people with the art of misdirection.

Chrome

Chrome in Dr. STONE

A member of the Ishigami Village — a village composed of people who were not petrified — Chrome is someone who was into science without knowing what science actually was. His loud and energetic personality somewhat alienates him from other members in the village, along with the fact that people think he’s a “sorcerer.”

After meeting Senku, he becomes his scientific partner in crime as they work together to recreate inventions that have been missing in this world for a long time.

Kohaku

Kohaku in Dr. STONE

Kohaku is the first person from the Ishigami Village Senku meets, which surprises him, as he wasn’t expecting any other people to be alive at all after he woke up. She’s a very strong and capable fighter who wants to protect her village from harm. After joining up with Senku’s Kingdom of Science, she becomes one of the top fighters for Senku and is also someone who becomes a very loyal ally for Senku in his fight against Tsukasa.

Suika

Suika in Dr. STONE

Suika might be known mostly for the melon she wears on her head, but she’s another member of the Ishigami Village who becomes incredibly loyal to Senku. It helps that Senku is able to figure out a cure for what Suika dubs her “fuzzy sickness,” which is essentially the fact that she’s near-sighted. Suika becomes a key scout for the Kingdom of Science, using her newly corrected vision to keep watch.

Ruri

Ruri in Dr. STONE

As the high priestess of the Ishigami Village, Ruri is sought after by many of the guys for her hand in marriage, and at one point, an entire tournament was held to see who would become her suitor. While Senku does win the tournament, he divorces her immediately — he only wanted the alcohol that was offered as a gift to the fighters and he doesn’t want to get in the way of Chrome who is infatuated with her.

When Senku meets Ruri, she’s been dealing with an illness no one can find a cure for. With help from Chrome, Senku is able to create medicine for her that makes her feel better, which in turn allows her to tell him the answers to the mysteries of this village.

Byakuya Ishigami

Byakuya in Dr. STONE

While everyone on Earth suffered due to being petrified, Senku’s adoptive father was located on the International Space Station with a crew of other astronauts. They all watched in horror as the Earth was changed forever. Byakuya and the rest of the crew were the founding members of the Ishigami Village, the answer to the mystery told to Senku by Ruri. Byakuya was able to create a time capsule disk for Senku that Senku was able to find after learning the Hundred Tales of the village.
