A fun, Christmas-themed key visual and an exciting new preview video (below) have been published for the upcoming second season of BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense., an ongoing adaptation based on the series of VRMMORPG light novels written by Yuumikan and illustrated by KOIN about a novice player who accidentally breaks her new favorite video game by assigning all of her level-up advancements to the vitality stat.
The new visual depicts Maple and the other members of the Maple Tree guild preparing to celebrate the holidays, while the new preview video features the official ending theme song for the season two, entitled “Step for Joy”, which is performed by FRAM.

The original BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense. light novels are published in Japan by Kadokawa under their Kadokawa Books imprint, an English language version is also available from Yen Press. Crunchyroll currently streams the first season of BOFURI, and describes the story as follows:

The second season of BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense. is directed by Shin Onuma and features animation production by SILVER LINK.. The series is scheduled to broadcast in Japan on AT-X, Asahi Broadcasting Corporation TV, and TOKYO MX beginning on January 11, 2023, and it will also stream on Crunchyroll as part of the winter 2023 anime simulcast lineup.
