Crayon Shin-chan Series Enters a New Dimension in First 3DCG Film
Fictional elementary school kids will have a chance to get rude and crude in an entirely new dimension soon, as a new Crayon Shin-chan movie was announced for Summer 2023, marking the first fully 3DCG work in the long-running adaptation of Yoshito Usui’s gag manga.

The new film is entitled Shin Jingen! Crayon Shin-chan THE MOVIE Chounouryoku Daikessen ~Tobetobe Temaki Sushi~ (“New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan THE MOVIE Psychic Powers Decisive Battle ~Tobetobe Hand-rolled Sushi~”). The film is written and directed by Hitoshi Ohne and features animation production by Shirogumi.
The original Crayon Shin-chan manga was serialized from 1990 to 2010 in Futabasha’s Weekly Manga Action and Weekly Manga Town magazines. Shin Jingen! Crayon Shin-chan THE MOVIE Chounouryoku Daikessen ~Tobetobe Temaki Sushi~ is the 31st film in the Crayon Shin-chan movie series, and a TV anime adaptation has also broadcast in Japan on TV Asahi from 1992 onwards.
