Blue Exorcist Manga Takes Two Month Break for Kazue Kato to Adjust to Overwork
The official Twitter account for the Blue Exorcist manga announced yesterday that the series will be taking a two-month break from the monthly Jump SQ. magazine. While the initial Tweet didn’t mention a cause, creator Kazue Kato wrote on Twitter that she is in “good physical condition” and that the break is due to more work than expected on the next chapter.
Here is a translation of the above Tweet:
“I will be taking a two-month break from publication.
It’s not due to my health, I am in a good physical condition and working fine! This is due to the fact that the amount of drawings for the next chapter has exceeded one month’s worth of work and this is just to adjust for the overwork.
I’m sorry to keep you all waiting again and I appreciate your patience!”

The Blue Exorcist manga returned to serialization after a nine-month break in the June 2022 issue of Jump SQ. This latest two-month break will affect the March and April issues of Jump SQ with plans for the next chapter to appear in the May 2023 issue, which is set to be released at the start of March.
Blue Exorcist has been adapted into two TV anime series and an anime film with a third season on the way. Crunchyroll is streaming the two anime series, describing them as such:
Assiah, the realm of humans, and Gehenna, the realm of demons. Normally, these two dimensions would never intersect, but the demons are now intruding on the material world.
