Aimer’s Demon Slayer Opening Theme Wins No.1 Spot on This Year’s Billboard JAPAN HOT 100

 

 

Billboard Japan announced today that Aimer‘s 20th single song “Zankyo Sanka” (TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc opening theme) won first place in its overall song chart “Billboard JAPAN HOT 100” in 2022. As reported in June, it was also the most popular song on the chart in the first half of this year.

As a double A-side CD single with “Asa ga Kuru” (the anime’s ending theme), it was released in Japan on January 12, 2022. The song “Zankyo Sanka” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Japan’s weekly overall song chart and dominated the chart for a total of nine weeks.

 

Aimer said, “I am so happy and excited that more people than I could have imagined at the time have listened to this song, which was written by the team I have been working with since my debut. I am very honored.” And when asked what kind of year 2022 was for her, she answered, “It was an exciting year, as if I had been riding various roller coasters repeatedly and without getting bored.”
