ZOIDS Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Motorized Model Kit Toys

 

ZOIDS, the popular series of robot animal model kit toys by Takara-Tomy, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a new line of motorized model kits, and the first one to be published is a 1/72 scale reproduction of the AZ-01 Blade Liger from the 1999 – 2000 Zoids: Chaotic Century TV anime.

The promo video above features voice actor Daisuke Kishio reprising his role as Van Flyheight, the protagonist of Zoids: Chaotic Century. Pre-orders for the AZ-01 Blade Liger toy are currently open online, with the final product scheduled to begin shipping in Japan in April of 2023. The model kit retails for 11,000 yen (approximately $75.76 US) including tax.
