Your Name VA Ryunosuke Kamiki Joins Shinkai’s Newest Anime Film Suzume

The door of Makoto Shinkai’s latest anime film Suzume will soon be blown open, but ahead of then the official website for the film revealed that Your Name. voice actor Ryunosuke Kamiki, who voiced the body-swapping Taki Tachibana, will be joining the cast as Souta’s friend Tomoya Serizawa, who is a little rough around the edges but cares deeply for his friends.

The official website also revealed that another theme song from RADWIMPS “Kanata Haluka” will be released on October 28, the same day the first 12 minutes of Suzume will be released on Japanese TV. The single will be released on most major streaming services and digital storefronts.

 

Suzume is directed by Makoto Shinkai, who also penned the screenplay for the film alongside Masayoshi Tanaka as the character designer, Kenichi Tsuchiya as the animation director and Takumi Tanji as the art director with animation production at CoMix Wave Films. The film releases in Japan on November 11 with Crunchyroll teaming up with Sony Pictures and Wild Bunch International to bring the feature to global audiences outside of Asia in early 2023.
