The duo was formed in 2017 and previously provided theme songs for A Whisker Away (2020) and Kaina of the Great Snow Sea (2023). “Setting Sun” was digitally released on May 8, then ranked third in Oricon’s daily digital single charts on its first day.

The music video for the summer-themed song was directed by up-and-coming animation creator Yutaro Kubo, who recently worked on YOASOBI‘s “Shukufuku / The Blessing,” the opening theme for the first season of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. The music video tells the story of the main character who is hesitant to give flowers, but is now able to take the first step.
