WIT STUDIO Produces Original Short Anime for Macross Delta Singer JUNNA’s 3rd Album
The official YouTube channel for anime music company FlyingDog has started streaming an original short anime “Fuyu no Okurimono” (A winter gift) animated by WIT STUDIO (Attack on Titan), which will be included in the bonus Blu-ray for singer JUNNA‘s forthcoming third album “Dear.” She is best known as the singing voice of Mikumo Guynemer in the Macross Delta franchise. As a solo singer on her own name, she has performed the theme songs for The Ancient Magus’ Bride in 2017, for Lord of Vermilion: The Crimson King in 2018, and for Fena: Pirate Princess in 2021.
The clip that depicts a girl’s growth and her encounter with a mysterious creature was screened for the first time at the premiere screening event for the first episode of the forthcoming second season of the The Ancient Magus’ Bride TV anime, held at the Tachikawa Cinema City 2 theater on March 11.
The theme song for the short, “Haru no Yume” (A spring dream) will also be included in the album. She said of the song, “I felt that this was a song that I had never tried before. I thought it would be nice if I could sing it carefully, leaving words one by one, so that my singing voice would come through more directly in the song. When recording the song, I learned the general storyline, so I wanted to express the transition from winter to spring in the song as well.”
As her singer debut’s fifth anniversary album, “Dear” is set to be released in Japan on April 12. The title song of the 14-song album will be featured as the opening theme for the forthcoming second season of the The Ancient Magus’ Bride TV anime to premiere on April 6. The much-awaited new season will be simulcast on Crunchyroll for members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS
