Voice Actor Takuma Terashima Writes The Lyrics for The School Songs of Newly Established Elementary Schools
It has been confirmed that voice actor Takuma Terashima (Ittoki Otoya in Uta no Prince-sama, Amagase Touma in THE iDOLM@STER: SideM) will write the lyrics for the school songs of two newly-established elementary schools in Hodatsushimizu Town in Ishikawa Prefecture. He was born in the town in 1983 and has served as its tourism ambassador since 2019.
In 2025, five elementary schools in the town will be merged into two schools – Oshimizu Elementary School and Shio Elementary School. The town’s Board of Education originally intended to reuse the school songs of the former schools, but many parents and teachers requested that they be newly produced, so they decided to ask someone with a connection to the town.
The Town Board of Education asked Terashima to write the lyrics, and he readily agreed. The music for the songs will be composed by his musical friends. The songs are scheduled to be completed in June 2024.
He wrote on Twitter after the announcemnet, “As announced today, I have been asked to write the lyrics for the school songs of Shio Elementary School and Oshimizu Elementary School, which will be newly opened following the merger of the elementary schools in Hodatsushimizu Town, where I was born and raised. I am both excited and humbled by this great honor. I will put my heart and soul into writing the lyrics so that they will bring back fond memories for the children!”
