Voice Actor Kaito Ishikawa to Resume Work after One Month Break

Voice actor agency Stay Luck announced on June 16 that Kaito Ishikawa, best known as Tobio Kageyama in Haikyu!! and Tenya Iida in My Hero Academia, is scheduled to resume work gradually from around June 24, taking into consideration the condition of his throat. As previously reported, Ishikawa underwent surgery for vocal cord polyps in late May, and has taken about a month off since then.

Ishikawa stated on his official Twitter on June 3 that he was discharged from the hospital, saying “The progress has been ridiculously good.” He again wrote on Twitter yesterday, “Slowly but steadily, the progress is good, and I will be returning to work on the 24th!!”

One of Ishikawa’s first jobs after the one-month break is a stage greeting appearance for the forthcoming Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out film, which will be held at the Shinjuku Wald 9 Theater in Tokyo on June 24. Ishikawa has played the role of Sakuta Azusagawa in the Rascal Does Not Dream franchise since 2019. He will join the event alongside Asami Seto, Yurika Kubo, Maaya Uchida, and Sora Amamiya.
