Viral Hit Shares Exciting Trailer with Theme Songs

The anime Viral Hit (a.k.a. Kenka Dokugaku in Japanese) will be here April 11, and ahead of that a trailer has dropped. In it you can hear clips of the opening theme song “Wild Boy” being performed by MA55IVE THE RAMPAGE as well as the ending theme song “Viral Hack” being performed by Crab Kani Club.

When the series debuts, it will be streamed in North America by Crunchyroll.

Viral Hit is being made at Okuru to Noboru, with Masakazu Hishida of Fairy Ranmaru helming the project as director. The person overseeing the series scripts is Toshiya Ono, who is known for working on The Promised Neverland. Credit for character design goes to Satomi Miyazaki of Tomodachi Game. The music is being composed by Yutaka Yamada, whose credits include Tokyo Ghoul and Vinland Saga. Meanwhile, the anime is being produced by Slow Curve.

Looking at the cast, Satoshi Niwa plays Kota Shimura, Nobuhiko Okamoto plays Kanegon, Fairouz Ai plays Aki Yashio, Yui Ishikawa plays Kaho Asamiya, Shunsuke Takeuchi plays Hamaken, Kaito Ishikawa plays Reo Shinjo, Yoshino Aoyama plays Rumi Meguro, Yūichi Nakamura plays Tatsuya Ōgi, and Tomokazu Sugita plays TOU-KEI.

The series started out as webtoon by Taejun Pak and Jung Hyun Kim. Webtoon gave this description for the plot:

Scrawny high school student Hobin Yu is probably the last guy you’d expect to star in a NewTube channel that revolves around fighting. But after following some advice from a mysterious NewTube channel, Hobin is soon knocking out guys stronger than him and raking in more money than he could have ever dreamed of. Can Hobin keep this up, or will he eventually meet his match?

So far Webtoon has made 207 chapters of Viral Hit available in English. The comic initially debuted in late 2019.
