As the new Urusei Yatsura anime heads toward its seventh episode that’s due to air on November 24, the series’ official Twitter account revealed today that Shuhei Nakano, one half of the Kaerutei comedy duo, will make his anime voice acting debut as a pool spirit this week.

When interviewed about the role, Nakano recalled reading the original manga in middle school and drawing pictures of Kurama, rather than Lum.

Based on the classic manga by Ruriko Takahashi, Urusei Yatsura is directed by Hideya Takahashi (Keijo!!!!!!!!) and Yasuhiro Kimura (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) at studio David Production and stars Sumire Uesaka (Nagatoro in Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro) and Hiroshi Kamiya (Araragi in Bakemonogatari) as the alien Lum and the alienated Ataru, respectively.

Sentai Filmworks, who are currently simulcasting the anime on HIDIVE, describe the series as such:

Chosen as humanity’s representative in a duel against invading aliens, the womanizing Ataru faces off against the alien princess Lum — and the conflict follows him home when Lum invades both planet Earth AND the reluctant Ataru’s love life!
