Undead Girl Murder Farce is Getting an Anime This Summer
The novel and manga series Undead Girl Murder Farce is going to be a TV anime! It’s set to premiere this July, though an exact date in the month has yet to be announced. Crunchyroll will stream it in America. A short trailer that’s just over half a minute long has dropped, so fans can get their first peek at how the story will look animated.
A little bit of the cast has also been revealed: Tomoyo Kurosawa plays Aya Rindo, Taku Yashiro plays Tsugaru Shinuchi, and Makoto Koichi plays Shizuku Hasei.
The anime is being made at Lapin Track with Mamoru Hatakeyama of Kaguya-sama: Love is War helming the project as the director. The jobs of sub-character design and chief animation directing are both being done by Naho Kozono from Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. Character design is being done by Noriko Itou of Kakegurui, using the original designs by Zerogo Iwamoto. The music is being composed by Yuma Yamaguchi, who is known for working on I’M KODAMA KAWASHIRI. The task of sound direction has been given to Kazuhiro Wakabayashi, who has worked on Bungo Stray Dogs.
So far three novels in the series have been published. The manga adaptation, meanwhile, has been licensed in America by Kodansha USA Publishing and is being published digitally. Three volumes are out, and Kodansha gave this description for the first one:
“The end of the 19th century—a vampire’s wife is murdered, and the detective known as the ‘cage user’ is called in to solve the crime. But there’s more to the detective and the curtained birdcage he carries…after all, when solving a case involving a monster, it might just take one to know one!”
