Two-member Girl Unit Neriame Make Major Debut with The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses Opening Theme

 

 

Neriame, a two-member girl unit from Aomori consisting of Akane and Akari who work on lyrics, music, and arrangement by themselves, will make their major debut from Sony Music with “Unmei Kyodotai!” (We are on the same boat!), the opening theme for the spring 2023 TV anime The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses.

Neriame took TikTok by storm with “Caramel Marshmallow Ichigo-ame,” which ranked No. 1 on the Billboard Japan TikTok Weekly Ranking, and has gained huge popularity on SNS with many other songs including “Youkya JK ni akogareru Inkya JK no uta,” whose music video has received more than 12 million views on YouTube. Their unforgettable lyrics, littered with killer phrases unique to Generation Z, and their unique sound influenced by J-Pop, HipHop, Kawaii Pop, and other genres are attracting attention.

 

“Unmei Kyodotai!” is a cheerful and energetic “friendship and youth” song that blends well with the worldview of the anime. Akane and Akari commented on the song as follows:

When it was decided that we would be in charge of the theme song, we really thought it was a dream. We were very excited, but at the same time anxious about taking on this challenge for the first time. After a lot of thinking and worrying, we finally came up with a cheerful and energetic song that is perfect for the anime, and we hope you enjoy it along with the anime.

 

 

Akari:

 

We had always wanted to make an anime theme song someday, so we were very happy and excited to work on it. We had an anxious feeling, but we had a lot of fun imagining the scenery and atmosphere from the manga and writing the lyrics. We thing we created a bright and cute song, so we hope you enjoy listening to it.
