The Kingdoms of Ruin is being directed by Keitaro Motonaga (Date A Live) at studio Yokohama Animation Lab, with series composition written by Takamitsu Kono (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man) and character designs by Hiromi Kato (Guilty Crown). Miki Sakurai, Shu Kanematsu and Hanae Nakamura, who all worked on My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, are composing the music.

The original The Kingdoms of Ruin manga by yoruhashi began in April 2019 with the eighth volume set to be released in Japan on March 10. Seven Seas Entertainment will release the sixth volume in English on May 16 and describes the series as such:

Humanity long lived in harmony with witches, but an advanced scientific revolution has made the powers of a witch unnecessary. Succumbing to resentment and fear, the greatest nation in the world begins a brutal witch hunt and eliminates all witches from the land. After being forced to watch his beloved teacher die, Adonis, a witch’s apprentice, swears revenge on the empire that took everything away from him. It’s a bloody battle between science and magic in this thrilling new fantasy manga!
