THE FIRST SLAM DUNK Anime Film Jumps Above The Wind Rises to Become the 27th Highest-Grossing Film in Japan
Toei Animation’s THE FIRST SLAM DUNK continues to slam and dunk on its opponents, remaining near the top of the weekend box office charts and continuing the winning streak it has had since December last year! With this, the anime film again jumped two spots on the all-time highest-grossing box office charts in Japan passing The Wind Rises.
As of March 19, THE FIRST SLAM DUNK has made 12.17 billion yen (US$$91.56 million) at the Japanese box office and is currently the 27th highest-grossing film of all-time and the 11th highest-grossing anime film of all-time, both in the Japanese domestic market passing Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises.
