The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 PV Faces New College Challenges
A dramatic new preview video, a new key visual and new cast members have all been revealed for The Ancient Magus’ Bride SEASON 2, the ongoing TV anime adaptation based on the dark fantasy manga by Kore Yamazaki about a young woman who finds herself betrothed and apprenticed to a powerful but inhuman sorcerer. The new cast members include:
- Lucy Webster voiced by Minami Tsuda.
- Philomela Sergeant voiced by Maki Kawase.
- Rian Scrimgeour voiced by Seiichiro Yamashita.
- Zoe Ivy voiced by Daiki Kobayashi.
- Veronica Rickenbacker voiced by Reina Ueda.
- Isaac Farrar voiced by Kotaro Nishiyama.
- Mikhail Renfred voiced by Satoshi Hino.
- And Alice voiced by Mutsumi Tamura.

Known as Mahou Tsukai no Yome in Japan, the original The Ancient Magus’ Bride manga is serialized in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden manga magazine, and an English language version is available from Seven Seas Entertainment. Crunchyroll describes the story of the series as follows:
Hatori Chise has lived a life full of neglect and abuse, devoid of anything resembling love. Far from the warmth of family, she has had her share of troubles and pitfalls. Just when all hope seems lost, a fateful encounter awaits her. When a man with the head of a beast, wielding strange powers, obtains her through a slave auction, Chise’s life will never be the same again.
The man is a “magus,”a sorcerer of great power, who decides to free Chise from the bonds of captivity. The magus then makes a bold statement: Chise will become his apprentice–and his bride!

The Ancient Magus’ Bride SEASON 2 is directed by Kazuaki Terasawa and features animation production by Studio KAFKA. The series will broadcast in Japan on TOKYO MX and other stations on Thursdays during the 22:00 time slot beginning on April 06, 2023.
