Teenage Life is Tough in RuriDragon Manga Voice Comics

A banner image for the Viz Manga release of the RuriDragon manga written and illustrated by Masaoki Shindo and published by Shueisha. The image features the main character, a half-human / half-dragon teenaged girl named Ruri, playfully making a growling motion with her hands and mouth. A pair of horns protrude from her forehead.

Adolescence can bring about some tough changes in the teenaged body such as horns and the ability to breath fire, or at least that’s the conceit in a pair of voice comics adapting RuriDragon, a fantasy manga by Masaoki Shindo about an ordinary high school girl who is chagrined to discover that she’s half human and half dragon.

The videos (below) feature the voice talents of Chiaki Omigawa as Ruri Aoki and Kaori Nazuka as Ruri’s Mother. They adapt the first three chapters of the RuriDragon manga as well as the original RuriDragon one-shot manga that was published in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine in December of 2020.

RuriDragon is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump manga magazine, although the series is currently on hiatus as a result of the author’s health. An English language version is also available from Viz Manga, who describe the story of the series as follows:

Ruri faces the usual issues: pushy classmates, annoying teachers and…waking up with dragon horns?!
