Suzume Teams Up With Companies in All 47 Prefectures for Massive Japan-Wide Collab

To celebrate the release of Makoto Shinkai’s newest anime film, companies in all of Japan’s 47 prefectures will be collaborating with Suzume in a project dubbed “Japan’s Tojimari Project.” A visual featuring Suzume “powerfully” running across Japan was released with the logos of all 47 companies below it.

The poster will all the logos was also released in this morning’s issue of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper.

 

All the companies collaborating with Suzume come from a wide variety of backgrounds, with everything from Sunshine City in the heart of Tokyo’s Ikebukuro area to Miyajima Soy Sauce from Saga prefecture and the Ibaraki Livestock Industry Association. A lot of these companies produce goods that are then sold throughout Japan, or have businesses in other prefectures, such as Hotel New Awaji which is headquartered in Hyogo prefecture but have hotels across the country.

All of these companies will announce in due time what their collaborations will be, but it has been teased that there will be food, posters and more involved. 

 

Suzume is directed by Makoto Shinkai, who also penned the screenplay for the film alongside Masayoshi Tanaka as the character designer, Kenichi Tsuchiya as the animation director and Takumi Tanji as the art director with animation production at CoMix Wave Films. The film releases in Japan on November 11 with Crunchyroll teaming up with Sony Pictures and Wild Bunch International to bring the feature to global audiences outside of Asia in early 2023.
