The time for Makoto Shinkai’s next film draws near, with Suzume set to open in Japan on November 11. As Japanese viewers go to the theater to watch one of the biggest films of the year they’ll be given the “Makoto Shinkai Book,” which will be handed out to three million people who head out in the first week or so and watch the anime film.
The “Makoto Shinkai Book” features not only interviews with the staff, including the director himself but also the original pitch for Suzume written by Shinkai, as well as excerpts of the original pitches for Your Name. and Weathering With You. All the information in the book, other than the other staff members interviewed, is written by Shinkai.
The anime film was also announced that Suzume will be getting midnight screenings at 11 theaters in six cities across Japan.
