SSSS.GRIDMAN Compilation Film Gets New Voice Drama Bundled in Illustration Card

A newly confirmed voice drama has been included with the illustration cards that were first revealed in December for the forthcoming SSSS.GRIDMAN anime film releasing on January 20 in Japan, the first of two compilation films in the wider GRIDMAN UNIVERSE film project that will premiere in March.

Those who purchase tickets to the first compilation film starting on January 20 and during the two-week screening period will not only get the previously announced illustration card, but the card also includes a brand new voice drama written by franchise director Akira Amemiya titled Hinekure Monodemo, which will feature characters Shō Utsumi and Hass. The second compilation film in SSSS.DYNAZENON will feature an identical bonus illustration card with a second voice drama also included and written by Amemiya, which is still untitled.

 

 

SSSS.GRIDMAN was the first project in the newly shared Gridman Universe, which is loosely based on the original Gridman live-action tokusatsu series from 1993 created by Tsuburaya Productions. Tsuburaya teamed up with TRIGGER for the TV anime series, which then spawned a sequel TV anime, SSSS.DYNAZENON, which aired from April 2, 2021, to June 18, 2021. Crunchyroll is streaming both series.

 

GRIDMAN UNIVERSE will be directed by Akira Amemiya at Studio TRIGGER and is set to premiere in Japan on March 24.
