Space Battleship Tiramisu Blasts off for Fourth and Final Stage Play

The fourth stage play based on manga and anime series Space Battleship Tiramisu is coming to Tokyo and Gifu this fall… and it’s the absolute last one, if the title is to be believed!

Stage Space Battleship Tiramisu Final Chapter ~The Final Last is the End of the End~ will conclude the events laid out in the first three productions. The third, subtitled “I Wish I Could Go to a Red-Light District on a Galaxy Train,” was performed last September.

Multiple cast members from the previous shows will be returning, including:

  • Kentaro Menjo as Subaru Ichinose
  • Gaku Takamoto as Isuzu Ichinose
  • Yusuke Ueda as Vulgar Hammer
  • Arisa Deguchi as Ligier Leroy
  • Kotaro Ito as Subaru-Beyond
  • Kohei Masaki as Escalade Cadillac
  • Saki Takahashi as Ginetta Mettus Walklet

Performances will be held in Tokyo and Gifu in September 2023. As much of the staff of the manga and anime hail from Gifu, the shows have received some extra attention there. This year, the Gifu tour dates will be part of Mizuho City’s 20th Anniversary Cultural Performance.

Space Battleship Tiramisu has also been adapted into a short form TV anime with direction by Hiroshi Ikehata and animation production by Gonzo. Crunchyroll currently streams both seasons of the Space Battleship Tiramisu TV anime, and describes the story of the series as follows:

The Earth Union is locked in a massive galactic war. Aboard the Space Battleship Tiramisu, ace pilot Subaru Ichinose carries the fate of humanity on his shoulders. Life for Subaru is tough. But nothing relieves tension quite like launching an all-out food-based assault on his own face. Snug as a bug in a rug, Subaru soothingly unwinds in his personal mecha, “Durandal F,” as bliss overtakes him.
