Sony had a huge day at the Consumer Electronics Show yesterday by announcing the company’s first-ever car – which is scheduled for a 2026 release! But on the more fun side, PlayStation fed gamers some more details on how the PlayStation 5 is going and revealed a brand new accessible controller input device.

According to the above tweet, over 30 million PlayStation 5 consoles have been sold worldwide with December 2022 being the best month ever for the console so far.

Other tidbits from PlayStation included a free Gran Turismo 7 upgrade for PS VR2 as well as Beat Saber coming to the new VR platform and that over 30 titles are on track for the PS VR2 launch window. But this wasn’t the biggest news for the two-year-old console…

That news was the announcement of Project Leonardo for PS5. Following Microsoft’s Xbox Adaptive Controller, Project Leonardo is Sony’s crack at making gaming more accessible to everyone. Leonardo comes with complete button mapping (including doubling up on inputs on the same button) and adaptability with the DualSense and other devices to create a system that works for the player.

Details on when Project Leonardo will be released are to be confirmed as the input controller is still in development.
