Sister Piano Duo Kitri Performs My Clueless First Friend Ending Theme

Japanese record company Nippon Columbia has confirmed that Kitri, a piano vocal unit consisting of older sister Mona and younger sister Hina, performs “Kokorone” (literally means one’s true heart), the ending theme song for the forthcoming TV anime My Clueless First Friend. The newly-written song is set to be released digitally on April 10.

Kitri was formed by the two real sisters in 2015, then made their major debut from Nippon Columbia’s BETTER DAYS label in January 2019. They are known for their impressive rendan (four-handed) piano performing style where they sit side-by-side, and have worked as artists who create their own unique experimental music based on classical music. Their major debut single song “Hikare Inochi” was featured as the ending theme song for the Komi Can’t Communicate TV anime in 2021.

Message from Kitri:

We are Kitri, and we are in charge of the ending theme. We are truly happy to be able to be involved in this wonderful work. Takada-kun, Nishimura-san, and their unique friends. We felt every moment of their ordinary life was so lovely, and we found it nourished our own hearts and minds while working on the production of the song. Takada-kun’s straightforward and pure kindness, which is not misled by anyone’s words or actions, reminds us of something we had almost forgotten as an adult. Feeling the same way as Nishimura-san, we were was struck again and again with amazement as the view in front of us changed 180 degrees. Something that changes as the two of them grow up, while something that will always remain the same. We wrote the song “Kokorone” with the expectation of what kind of future will come from the mixing of the two. We hope that this song, which is very important to us, will reach the hearts of many people along with the anime.
