SHY TV Anime Adaptation Premieres in 2023

The official site for the anime adaptation of the SHY superhero manga confirmed the anime adaptation, first announced in October of last year, will premiere in 2023. The announcement was included with the release of the 18th volume of the manga released earlier today in Japan.

Additionally, the franchise will be featured during this year’s installment of the AnimeJapan trade show held later this month, with a sticker giveaway hosted by the Bandai Namco Group and additional details on the adaptation being announced. The anime adaptation will be handled by Eight-Bit with Masaomi Andō in the director’s chair and Shino Shimoji in the role of Shy/Teru Momijiyama. The manga, illustrated and written by Bukimi Miki, began serialization in Weekly Shonen Champion in 2019. Yen Press currently publishes the manga in English, and describes it as such:

In an age when superpowered defenders from each country have brought peace to the world, Japan’s representative is a timid young girl known as “Shy.” She may be embarrassed by the mere thought of slipping into spandex, but she’ll prove that despite it all, she still has the heart of a hero!
