Shin Megami Tensei Series Celebrates 30th Anniversary with New Logo

Shin Megami Tensei

As of yesterday, it’s officially been 30 years since the demonic power of the Shin Megami Tensei series was first ignited. As the third game in the Megami Tensei series of RPGs, Shin Megami Tensei first launched on Super Famicom in Japan on October 30, 1992, transporting players to a near-future Tokyo in which a portal to the realm of demons has accidentally been opened.

Needless to say, chaos—and a lot of dungeon-crawling and demon-recruiting—ensues, and it’s a problem we’ve had fun dealing with for the past three decades. To mark the milestone, Atlus shared a new 30th anniversary logo for the series.

The latest main entry in the series Shin Megami Tensei V, dropped in 2021, and Soul Hackers 2 just launched this past August, so the long-running RPG series is going strong 30 years on and counting.
