With less than a day to go before its premiere, promotion is at full blast for the Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King anime film. The feature opens in Japanese cinemas on Friday, June 16 alongside simultaneous global streaming on Netflix, and you can see how it opens in a new video from the official Netflix Anime YouTube channel.

The Black Clover TV anime ran for 170 episodes from October 3, 2017, to March 30, 2021, with Crunchyroll streaming the series as it aired. The Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King anime film will be streaming on Netflix worldwide on June 16, the same day as its Japanese theatrical release. Crunchyroll describes the series as such:

 

In a world where magic is everything, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is gifted with exceptional magical powers, Asta is the only one in this world without any. At the age of fifteen, both receive grimoires, magic books that amplify their holder’s magic. Asta’s is a rare Grimoire of Anti-Magic that negates and repels his opponent’s spells.
