Science And Magic Clash in The Kingdoms of Ruin TV Anime Trailer

A dramatic new preview video has been published for The Kingdoms of Ruin (known in Japan as Hametsu no Oukoku), an upcoming TV anime based on the dark fantasy manga by yoruhashi about a world in which magic-wielding witches are persecuted using the power of technology.

The original The Kingdoms of Ruin manga is serialized in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden magazine, and an English language version is also available from Seven Seas Entertainment, who describe the story of the series as follows:

 

Humanity long lived in harmony with witches, but an advanced scientific revolution has made the powers of a witch unnecessary. Succumbing to resentment and fear, the greatest nation in the world begins a brutal witch hunt and eliminates all witches from the land. After being forced to watch his beloved teacher die, Adonis, a witch’s apprentice, swears revenge on the empire that took everything away from him. It’s a bloody battle between science and magic in this thrilling new fantasy manga!

 

The Kingdoms of Ruin TV anime is directed by Keitaro Motonaga and features animation production by Yokohama Animation Laboratory. The series is scheduled to broadcast in Japan beginning in October of 2023.
