Sanrio’s Bosanimal Fluffs Up Short Anime Series for April 2023
A portmanteau of “animal” and the Japanese “bosabosa”, used to mean both untidy hair and whiling away, the adorable mascot characters of Sanrio’s Bosanimal line are officially heading to the small screen for a short TV anime adaptation this April.
You can already meet the central trio of Sakura, Cassie and Ran (character romanizations unconfirmed) in the anime’s first key visual that accompanied the announcement below. A trailer and main staff details were also revealed.

Based on the characters created by Amy for Sanrio, Isamu Ueno (I’m From Japan) is directing the series at studio maroyaka and soken with production assistance from ODDJOB Inc., alongside Hiromu Kumamoto (Working Buddies!), Aya Satsuki (My Master Has No Tail) and Chihiro Amano as scriptwriters.
