Rent-a-Girlfriend Heroines Mobile Game Shuts Down in January 2023

Kanojo Okarishimasu ~ Heroine Allstars ~

After only a little over a year of service the Rent-a-Girlfriend mobile game, which was only available in Japan, will be closing its doors in January 2023, the official Twitter account for the game revealed yesterday. While the game was based on the concept of the Rent-a-Girlfriend franchise, it brought heroines from other Weekly Shonen Magazine manga series into the rental girlfriend world through puzzle games.

After the initial reveal of Kanojo Okarishimasu ~ Heroine All Stars ~ in July 2021, the events that were presented alongside the announcement finished up in February with a Valentine’s Day The Seven Deadly Sins event. The game will officially close on January 25, with in-game currency available to be bought until November 30. All unused currency will be able to be refunded to the player once the game closes.

Rent-a-Girlfriend season 2 began on July 1, with the series being streamed right here on Crunchyroll soon after it airs in Japan. A third season is currently in production. Crunchyroll describes the series as such:

A hopeless college student, Kinoshita Kazuya, meets a graceful rental girlfriend, Mizuhara Chizuru, and ends up introducing her as his girlfriend to his family and friends. Time goes on with Kazuya unable to tell the truth, as he’s surrounded by devilish ex-girlfriend Nanami Mami, who keeps coming back to tempt him for some reason, hyper-aggressive provisional girlfriend Sarashina Ruka, who doesn’t know how to take no for an answer, and super shy but diligent and hardworking younger rental girlfriend, Sakurasawa Sumi… beautiful girlfriends of all types! The pub, the beach, hot springs, Christmas, and New Year’s… Having gone through these challenging events, Kazuya’s feelings for Chizuru keep growing stronger. But she reveals a shocking truth that threatens to shake their “relationship” to the very core!
